What "monthly capacity" means
Internally we measure capacity in JARAI tokens (£0.0001 of underlying provider cost per token). What you see on your Studio Console Usage page is percentage of your monthly capacity used, plus an estimate of what fits in the rest of your month — e.g., "~12 videos remaining".

Extra usage & credit packs
Extra usage is off by default. When monthly capacity is exhausted, your AI generation pauses until the next monthly anchor — unless you've turned extra usage on, in which case overflow runs at the transparent markup. You set a monthly spend cap, optional auto-reload, and see a confirmation dialog the first time you switch it on.
Pre-pay credit packs save you money on extra usage:

Three things that may surprise you
- You don't pay for every call. Each plan ships with monthly production capacity included. Extra usage is off by default — you'll never be charged beyond your subscription unless you explicitly turn it on.
- All features at every tier. Creator, Pro, and Atelier differ on capacity (users, accounts, monthly allowance), not on capability. A solo Creator can use every JARAI feature; only team-management surfaces (audit log, role granularity) require Atelier (Team plan).
- No card-on-file at signup, no surprise bills, easy cancellation. Try free first; add a card when you commit. Cancel any time in three clicks — no friction, no retention dark patterns. (This is a deliberate trust-building stance, aligned with the UK DMCC Act 2024.)
Frequently asked questions
- Are you training your AI on my content?
- No. Your productions are private to your account. JARAI uses third-party AI providers (OpenAI, Anthropic, etc.) under data-processing agreements that prohibit training on customer prompts or outputs.
- If your AI provider costs drop, do my prices drop?
- Yes. Our markup percentage is fixed (25% for Creator/Pro, 20% for Atelier). If underlying provider costs drop, your extra-usage charges drop proportionally — we don't keep the difference.
- Do credit packs expire?
- Credit packs do not expire at launch. (We're consulting with our accountant on UK FRS 102 / IFRS 15 deferred-revenue treatment; if expiry becomes necessary post-launch we'll communicate at least 60 days in advance and grandfather existing packs.)
- Does unused capacity roll over?
- No, but your full capacity refreshes every month — so you always start fresh with full headroom. We don't reward "saving up" because the metering is designed for production, not budgeting.
- What happens if my monthly capacity runs out?
- With extra usage off (default), your AI generation pauses until the next monthly anchor — your work resumes automatically. With extra usage on, overflow runs at the markup until you hit your spend cap (which you set). Atelier ships with extra usage on + auto-reload preset so production deadlines are never blocked.
- Can I cancel any time?
- Yes. Cancellation is a three-click flow in your billing settings. We comply with the UK DMCC Act 2024 — no friction, no retention forms, no extended cooling-off period required.
- What does the Atelier tier include that Creator and Pro don't?
- Atelier is the multi-seat Team plan. It adds: multiple named users on the same subscription, an audit log, role granularity (separate Administrator/Producer/Financial Controller/Viewer roles for different team members), operator assignment workflows, and per-seat capacity that pools across the team. The underlying production features are identical across all tiers.
